Tirukkuṛaḷ (Tamilதிருக்குறள் also known as the Kural), sometimes spelt 'Thirukkural, is a classic of couplets or Kurals (1330 rhyming Tamilcouplets) or aphorisms[1].[2] It was authored by Thiruvalluvar, a poet who is said to have lived anytime between 2nd century BC and 5th century AD[citation needed]. Although the exact period of its composition is still disputed, scholars agree that it was produced in the late Tamil Sangam period. The Thirukkural expounds on various aspects of life and is one of the most important works in the Tamil language. This is reflected in some of the other names by which the text is known: Tamil marai (Tamil Vedas); poyyamozhi (words that never fail); and Daiva nool (divine text).[3] The book is considered to precede Manimekalai and Silapathikaram since they both acknowledge the Kural text.[4]
Thirukkural (or the Kural) is a collection of 1330 Tamil couplets organised into 133 chapters. Each chapter has a specific subject ranging from "ploughing a piece of land" to "ruling a country". It preaches simplicity and truth throughout its verses . According to the LIFCO Tamil-Tamil-English dictionary, theTamil word Kural literally means "short verse", and is typified by the Venpa metre that consists of two lines. In the aspect of metre & brevity, and the profoundity of expression,Thirukkural comes under one of the four categories of Venpas (Tamil verses) called Kural Venpa. The 1330 couplets are arranged into 3 main sections and 133 chapters. Each chapter contains 10 couplets. A couplet consists of seven cirs, with four cirs on the first line and three on the second. A cir is a single or a combination of more than one Tamil word. For example, Thirukkural is a cir formed by combining the two words Thiru and Kural, i.e. Thiru + Kural = Thirukkural. It has been translated to various other languages.[5]
There are claims and counter claims as to the authorship of the book and to the exact number of couplets written by Thiruvalluvar. The first instance of the author's name mentioned as Thiruvalluvar is found to be several centuries later in a song of praise called Garland of Thiruvalluvar in Thiruvalluva Malai.[6]
Most of the Researchers and great Tamil Scholars like George Uglow Pope or G.U. Pope who had spent many years in Tamil Nadu and translated many Tamil texts into English, which includes Thirukkural.

Economics - Liquidity

Liquidity is the amount of capital that is available for investment and spending. Most of the capital is credit rather than cash. That's because the large financial institutions that do most investments prefer using borrowed money. Even consumers have traditionally preferred credit cards to debit cards, checks or cash.

High liquidity means there is a lot of capital. That usually happens when interest rates are low, and so capital is easily available. Low interest rates mean credit is cheap, which reduces the risk of borrowing. That's because the return only has to be higher than the interest rate, so more investments look good. In this way, high liquidity spurs economic growth. The Federal Reservemanages liquidity by guiding the interest rate withmonetary policy to set the target for the Fed funds rate.
A liquidity glut develops when there is too much capital looking for too few investments. This can lead to inflation. As cheap money chases fewer and fewer good investments, whether its houses, gold, or high tech companies, then the prices of those assets increase. This leads to "irrational exuberance." Investors only think that the prices will rise, and everyone wants to buy more now so they don't miss any profit.
Eventually, a liquidity glut means more of this capital becomes invested in bad projects. As the ventures go defunct and don't pay out their promised return, investors are left holding worthless assets. Panic ensues, resulting in a withdrawal of investment money. Prices plummet, as investors scramble madly to sell before prices drop further. This is what happened with mortgage-backed securities during the Subprime Mortgage Crisis. This phase of the business cycle, known as contraction, usually leads to a recession.

If God was a banker - Novel

I think the book brings out certain, rather the common characteristics that corporate folks exhibit in the professional and personal life. It talks about the intention behind every move that one makes to get ahead of the corporate race. I think on another hand to idealistic in depicting the character of corporate guys how are God like, all merciful and all forgiving. I think this part was a bit of unbelievable, rather to a large extent unbelievable. Who know there could exist people who are all forgiving and merciful in corporate world too. One of the things that I personally took out of the book was, how one has to be vigilant in corporate environment as most often one is subjected to tactics that are way incomprehensible and forceful.
Good book over all

Telematics

Telematics refers to the integration of computing, wireless communications and Global Positioning System (GPS) for sending, receiving and storing information over vast networks. More specifically, the term refers to automobile systems that provide a variety of emergency and navigational services to motorists. Telematics devices allow drivers to browse the Internet, send and receive e-mails, receive live traffic updates, listen to satellite radio, and perform various other activities. The best part is that all these things can be done hands-free.
